Part P Requirement
As of 1 January 2005 it is a legal requirement for all work on fixed electrical installations in dwellings and associated buildings to comply with relevant standards. The relevant UK standard is BS 7671:2008, ‘Requirements for electrical installations’ (The IEE Wiring Regulations 17th Edition). BS 7671 covers requirements for design, installation, inspection, testing, verification and certification.
JTT Electrical is regularly assessed and has been accredited with NICEIC (National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting) “Approved Contractor” Status, which includes the “Domestic Installer” status. This means that our work complies with the electrical regulations; BS7671, and is assessed to ensure this compliance.
All electrical installations must be Inspected, Tested and Certified upon completion. The owner will receive the installation certificate upon completion, and local building authorities will be notified of the works.
